Terry Drake's life underwent a dramatic change when, as a high school freshman, he was invited to attend Fort Worth Christian School and play football. Having grown up in the projects, he had always found safety, opportunity, and hope to be scarce. Terry witnessed many of his friends fall into gangs, drugs, and prison. The family that took Terry in provided him with a sense of belonging, the chance for a good education, and the privilege to play football. His deep gratitude for the opportunities given to him inspired him to start Drake Athletics, so others could experience the same sense of hope and opportunity.

 

At the heart of Drake Athletic lies a vision to create a brighter future for our youth. We believe that sports can be a transformative experience, imparting valuable lessons in teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and leadership, all grounded in moral principles. By engaging children in

athletic activities, we aim to nurture their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, instilling confidence, self-worth, and a belief in self.

 

Through relationships we bridge the gap between potential and opportunity for underprivileged children. We strive to provide accessible athletic programs that emphasize skill development, healthy habits, character building, with positivity. Through our initiatives, we aim to:
